The History of Marquette Bank–A Local Chicago Bank

Marquette Bank is a local Chicago bank that has been serving the needs of the local community since May of 1945. The bank was founded by John F. McCarthy, the Director and Chairman of the Board.
Over the years, Marquette Bank has remained focused on fulfilling the financial and civic needs of its communities, which is why it has continued to open additional offices in new locations as a convenience for customers. In fact, Marquette Bank presently has 24 offices located throughout the greater southwest Chicagoland area and even plans to open several more offices soon.
Many Marquette Bank employees grew up in the very neighborhoods its offices serve today. Some have dedicated their entire careers to working at Marquette, and this strong tie to the community shows through in the personal yet professional service each customer receives.
McCarthy served as Board Chairman until 1990. Presently, his son, Paul M. McCarthy, holds the position. George Moncada serves as President and CEO. The bank’s assets now total over $1.6 billion and it has become one of the few independently owned and managed financial institutions in Illinois.
As Marquette Bank states, “We are proud of our past and excited about our future.”
